FILEFIX GUIDE

Resize an image to exact pixels

Some forms specify an exact width and height, such as 200 × 230 pixels. That is different from simply making an image smaller.

Pixels are dimensions

A requirement such as 600 × 600 px specifies the output width and height in pixels. The image should match both values exactly.

Resize or crop?

If your source has a different aspect ratio, stretching it can distort faces and objects. Cropping first can preserve proportions, then the result can be resized to the required dimensions.

File size is separate

An image can have the correct pixel dimensions and still be too large in KB or MB. Check both requirements when a form specifies both.

Use FileFix

FileFix can resize supported images and, when needed, crop and compress them to match a target requirement.
